Mark Bracco doesn’t mind working on New Year’s Eve. For 13 years, Bracco has served as the executive producer for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest, the iconic annual event that millions of Americans look to as the official start to the New Year.
Bracco oversees the booking of the countless chart-topping artists who perform at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve all across America. This year’s show will feature performances from breakout artists like Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello and Dua Lipa, as well as veterans like Christina Aguilera and New Kids on the Block. Ryan Seacrest will host the event live from Times Square with the help of Jenny McCarthy, while Lucy Hale and Ciara will handle coverage from New Orleans and Los Angeles, respectively, ushering in the New Year as it occurs in the different time zones.
Putting together one of the most highly televised events of the year is no small undertaking, and Bracco helps make it all happen. Billboard caught up with the man behind the curtain just before the 47th anniversary of America’s biggest celebration, to talk about the evolution of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and the importance of keeping traditions alive.

Christina Aguilera cancels Detroit concert date after delay2018.12.14. 20:15, Ani
Christina Aguilera has canceled her Detroit concert at the Fox Theatre after delaying the show in October, the venue announced Friday.
Aguilera’s “The Liberation Tour” was scheduled at the Fox Theatre on Oct. 13 before announcing to fans that she had lost her voice and the concert would be postponed until a later date.
Hours before her October show, she tweeted: “It pains me to say, I have been doing all I possibly can to speed recovery and I’m so much closer, but on my doctors orders I’m unable to perform the show tonight in Detroit.”
“I owe it to my fighters to give you 100% for EVERY show,” she said in a follow-up Tweet. “You have my word that it will be worth the wait.”
Refunds are available. Any tickets purchased through phone or internet will be automatically refunded, the venue tweeted.

Of course, she won’t be the only one to perform that evening. Bastille, Dan + Shay and New Kids On The Block are also set to take the stage before the clock strikes midnight. Post Malone will also celebrate 2019 with a performance after the countdown.

Lovato shared a screenshot of the nomination on the Recording Academy’s website and circled her name. “Woke up filled with hope. Dreams come true y’all,” she captioned the photo. “Thank you @xtina. I love you so much.”
